RAK Realty Group acquired Plainfield Yard, a 42-acre industrial property with approximately 340,000 square feet of existing building at the corner of Route 59 and 143rd Street in Plainfield, Illinois. The site is located in the I-55 corridor, one of the most active industrial submarkets in the Chicago metro, and benefits from direct access to Route 59, I-55, and the region's major intermodal facilities.

The acquisition marks the firm's second investment and will be repositioned through a comprehensive redevelopment of the site. The business plan includes a reskin of the existing building, new loading docks, a building addition, and an expansion of the truck and trailer parking areas. Upon completion, the project will deliver a modernized industrial facility with substantial secured outdoor storage in a submarket where functional, well-located industrial outdoor storage remains in limited supply.
